Keolis wint contract voor deelfietsverhuur in Nantes

Nantes Métropole has chosen to award Cykleo, a subsidiary of the Keolis Group, the operation of its bike rental and parking services under the Naolib Vélo brand. This new contract, commencing on 7 January 2027, covers the management of a fleet of 3,690 bicycles across the 24 municipalities of the metropolitan area.

Through integrated service management, this contract aims to simplify the cycling experience and sustainably transform the mobility habits of Nantes residents by providing a high-performance, inclusive service that encourages modal shift.

Six new models

The contract notably includes the introduction of short-term bike hire. This new service will allow users to test cycling with complete flexibility.

Furthermore, the rental fleet will be expanded with six new models to meet user needs and make cycling accessible to everyone. The range will include:

  • A new range of longtail bikes, ideal for families;
  • New adaptive cycles, designed to meet the needs of people with reduced mobility and senior citizens;
  • Bikes designed for goods transport, featuring shorty and XL cargo models, as well as two models tailored for logistics operations;
  • A tandem to allow two people to travel together.

To support the growth of the rental range, all 5,200 bike parking spaces will remain available.

Finally, concessionary pricing, which is already applied to individual bike rentals, will be extended to subscriptions and secure cycle parks (véloparcs), ensuring access for all residents of the Métropole.

Mobile Cycle Hub

Beyond technical operations, Keolis and Cykleo are committed to actively promoting active mobility. A major component of the contract is dedicated to user support, guiding residents towards self-sufficiency and the purchase of their own equipment once their rental contract ends.

To achieve this, Cykleo will deploy a "Mobile Cycle Hub" (Maison du vélo mobile) that will tour the 24 municipalities. Events and workshops will be organised all year round in close collaboration with local community groups to provide advice and answer residents' questions on the spot.
